I was in college at the time and I loved the idea of lucid dreaming although I rarely could achieve a lucid state. I was trying to figure out new ways to lucid dream more effectively.
The thing is, at the time I was trying the same old techniques that everyone talked about on the internet.
The big problem was that I wanted to go deeper and have longer lasting lucid dreams that I could actually remember in the morning.
That meant I spent weeks practicing WBTB, dream journaling and reality checks and finally realized that almost all my lucid dreams were incredibly short and rarely even happened, which made me feel like completely giving up and just focusing on other things.
Then, as if by chance, something amazing happened...
